The proven Combat B series has been continually evolved and improved since our original Combat B1 debuted in 2007. Built for demanding environments, the series has been used in military applications, from scorching deserts to freezing mountaintops. The B74 brings that established construction into a more compact 39mm case, with the added functionality of a true GMT movement.

The Miyota 9075 automatic movement features an independently adjustable local hour hand, allowing the wearer to change time zones without disturbing the minute hand or GMT reference. Each movement is regulated in 6 positions after assembly and protected by our anti-shock mounting system.

The forged 316L stainless steel case measures just 46mm lug-to-lug, with downward-curving lugs designed to fit comfortably on smaller wrists. A triple-layer dial, diamond-cut hands and our MDV luminous technology provide excellent legibility. Each B74 is assembled and tested by hand in Ohio and produced as a limited, individually numbered series of 500 pieces.

The Combat B cases are made from 316L surgical grade stainless steel. We use forged construction to re-align the metal grain structure to increase fatigue strength by 37% over a typical cast steel case. This also eliminates voids and porosity in the metal, allowing for the finest possible finishing level.

A heat treatment is done to improve the stability of the metal during the forging process and to harden the metal surface after finishing.

Bead blast finishing creates a micro work hardened surface to improve scratch and ding resistance by 8-10% over brushed or polished finishes. It leaves a smooth satin finish. We add a physical vapor deposited anti-fingerprint coating to fill microscopic pores from the bead blasting and leave an even smoother finish that prevents oily smudges and fingerprints on the case.

The thick, slightly domed, Hytrel mounted sapphire creates a wider angle reflection which makes the dial easier to see without harsh reflection. Clarity is further enhanced by the military grade anti-reflective DLC coating applied to the inside of the sapphire.

Silicone lubricated, double Viton gasket seals are in the crown and the tightly sealed, threaded caseback to resist saltwater, chemicals and extreme hot and cold environments. Our sealing system has been improved by over 200% since our original Combat B1 model and tested to exceed our 200 meter depth rating by 30%, ensuring complete sealing in not only water depths but in all environments.

The case is designed with lugs that curve downward, wrapping around your wrist. The 46mm lug-to-lug length has a steep downward curve, allowing the watch to fit even a small wrist without feeling excessively large. The effective wrist span is closer to that of a 41-42mm lug-to-lug case. This is one of the reasons the Combat B case has remained a longtime favorite among our customers.

Our anti-shock movement mounting system allows the movement to absorb impacts, helping maintain reliability even after an accidental drop or a solid impact against a hard surface.

Two custom grade, thick nylon straps are included. Each strap loops through both sides of the case to help prevent the watch from being lost if a springbar becomes damaged. Our nylon straps are more durable than typical straps of this type and are designed for easy adjustment, a secure fit and minimal weight on the wrist.

The triple-layer dial features over 30 layers of top grade Super-Luminova material over a chemically coated, reflective base. This construction directs luminous output toward the front of the watch rather than allowing it to be lost into the dial. Our dials have been tested and verified by RC Tritec in Switzerland to be top performers of the Super-Luminova material.

We provide free movement timing adjustments, seal cleaning and lubrication, and pressure testing for life, right here in Ohio. We regularly see watches return after 15+ years of service. Beyond supporting our customers, this allows us to evaluate how our watches perform over time and apply that experience to the engineering and development of future models.
